Chicago Cubs prospects have been in the news a lot lately and now this might be the biggest news. Cubs prospect Kris Bryant has topped the ESPN’s midseason prospects rankings done by Keith Law.
Bryant got off to a hot start for the Cubs AA team the Tennessee Smokies earning him a promotion to the Iowa Cubs. Bryant continued his tear there as well. The 22-year-old has 31 home runs combine this season.
The No.2 overall pick in last years MLB Draft, Bryant is up 14 spots on the list from No. 15 in the preseason rankings. Although Bryant is playing very well, there’s still a slim chance we will see him at Wrigley Field this season.
Joining Bryant in the top 10 are Cubs prospects Addison Russell at No. 4 and Javier Baez at No. 8. The Cubs were also recently ranked the No.1 farm system after acquiring Addison Russell for pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel.
