The future looks bright for the Chicago Cubs.
Outfielder Albert Almora Jr. made a spectacular leaping dive to save an extra base hit against the Texas Rangers, as the Cubs start the second half of the season and regain the momentum they had for the first two months of the season.
Here’s the catch:
If everything goes according to plan next season, Almora will be taking over as the centerfielder instead of having to re-sign Dexter Fowler, who is currently injured and on the disabled list. Almora’s defensive potential, as seen here, is one of the reasons the Cubs are so confident in his ability to man the most important job in the outfield.
The Cubs have a three game set against the Rangers that starts today before three against the team that has been their kryptonite, the New York Mets, starting on Monday.
