More fans are buying Chicago Cubs jerseys than any other team in Major League Baseball.
Following the team’s historic Game 7 win, the Cubs have hosted a few celebrations and have seen a rise in popularity among players. As they open the 2017 season, their popularity among fans has arguably never been higher.
That’s true for merchandise sales, as well.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the Cubs have 4 of the top 5 best-selling jerseys since the end of the World Series.
MLB released its jersey sales list on Friday and right at the top sits third baseman Kris Bryant. The 25-year-old leads the entire league in jersey sales after winning the 2016 NL MVP.
Bryant has had the best-selling jersey since he made his major league debut in April of 2015.
Right behind Bryant is No. 2 Anthony Rizzo, No. 4 Javier Baez and No. 5 Kyle Schwarber. Sandwiched in between the Cubs four is Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw at No. 3.
No other Cubs players cracked the top 20 on the list but having 4 of the top 5 is pretty remarkable We don’t expect to see this list change much in the future either.
The Cubs are a very marketable team with very likable players. Built to win for years, the Cubs could dominate this list for multiple years.
