On the day where movement happened more than ever, the Chicago Cubs made little noise and none to help the ball club now or in the future. The Cubs announced the ending to Rick Renteria’s coaching staff; hiring Eric Hinske as the 1st base coach.
Hinske just completed a 12-year career. He played for the Arizona Diamondbacks last season. Hinske was the 17th round draft pick by the Cubs in 1998. Other teams Hinske played for his his 12-year career, were the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
No one in the world seen Hinske coming to the Cubs. He was an under the radar guy. But from what I’ve seen online, a lot of people like the signing. Hinske was well-respected around the league and a great clubhouse guy. That will help since the Cubs don’t have a known true leader and will be good for a young team.
