Manny is back!
The Chicago Cubs announce via press release that the organization has hired Manny Ramirez as a hitting consultant. The 42-year-old Ramirez joined the club’s Triple-A affiliate Iowa Cubs last year as a player-coach last season.
According to the release, Ramirez will work with the major and minor league hitters throughout the season. He will focus on fundamental and mental aspects of hitting.

The news of former Boston third baseman Kevin Youkilis joining the Chicago Cubs front office was no rumor. The organization also announced on Tuesday that Youkilis has been hired as a scouting and player development consultant for the Cubs. A report surfaced last week about the hiring but a press release by the Cubs has made it official.
