The Chicago Cubs relationship with the Kane County Cougars is over. After two years, the Cubs have decided to part ways with Kane County and head to South Bend.
The Daily Herald’s Bruce Miles reported earlier today that the organization will make South Bend their Midwest League affiliate. The Cubs deal with Kane County expired and the Cubs were worried about facility upgrades, ultimely leading up to the switch.
The current team, ‘Silver Hawks’, are likely to see a name change to the Cubs when the deal is finalized. A press conference is scheduled for next Thursday in South Bend to officialize the move.
