It’s no secret that the Chicago Cubs have to rebuild their bullpen after it struggled in 2017.
The Cubs will target some much-needed bullpen help in free agency and with the Winter Meetings next week, things will heat up at the Hot Stove. On Tuesday, MLB Networks Jon Morosi tweeted that the Cubs have shown interest in a former Washington Nationals right-handed reliever.
Here’s what he tweeted:

Morosi connects the Cubs to Brandon Kintzler, which is interesting, but also says that talks haven’t hit that advanced stage yet.
Kintzler split his 2017 season between the Minnesota Twins and Washington Nationals, making 72 appearances. He’s posted a career 3.26 ERA in 306.2 innings pitched over 8 years. In 2017 he posted an ERA of 3.03 and a WHIP of 1.150.
