The Jon Lester watch is over and the Chicago Cubs have their man.
Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal has reported that Jon Lester has agreed to a 6-year, $155 million contract with the Cubs. Lester was mulling between the Cubs, Red Sox and Giants for days. On Tuesday, it was reported that the Giants were out, leaving just the Cubs and Red Sox hoping to sign the star pitchers. In the end, it was the Cubs getting their man.

With the signing of Lester, it gives the Cubs a number one starter in their rotation to go along with Jake Arrieta and Kyle Hendricks. The Cubs also signed Jason Hammel for the backend of their rotation.
Lester was torn throughout the entire process. Ultimately, decision came down to a pretty simple fact: He wants to make history in Chicago.
