In a recent interview, this Chicago Cubs star pitcher heaped a ton of praise on their newly acquired superstar.

Justin Steele is one of the Chicago Cubs top pitchers and one of the stars they have on their roster. In a recent interview he gave with Northside Territory, Steele couldn’t stop lobbing praise on the Chicago Cubs newly acquired superstar, Kyle Tucker.

The Chicago Cubs acquired Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros earlier this offseason in which they sent them a package that consisted of third baseman Isaac Paredes, right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski, and third base prospect Cam Smith. When asked about his thoughts on the Cubs acquiring Kyle Tucker, Steele said:

“Anytime you add a bat like Kyle Tucker to the team, in the lineup, even the way he plays defense is incredible.”

“I played a ton against him in High-A and just remember thinking this guy is going to be a stud.”

Steele added in:

“He’s still young, has a great left-handed swing, and plays defense really hard,” Steele continued. “He’s only gotten better every single year. He’s a fun player to watch, and I’m excited to get around him.”

During both their careers in the majors, Tucker and Steele have only squared off three times while being big leaguers, with Tucker going one for three with his hit being a double and collecting an RBI to boot.

The Chicago Cubs will need both to have success this season

The Chicago Cubs will need both Justin Steele and Kyle Tucker to be on their games this season for them to have success. With Kyle Tucker figuring to have an MVP-type season, which he was on pace for last year before getting hurt, and Steele, who could possibly win the Cy Young for this season, which he finished fifth for in 2023, the Chicago Cubs could possibly have a spectacular season.
