Update 3:08pm: Per reports, the Cubs are officially done dealing.

Update 2:47pm: The Cubs will receive cash consideration from the Marlins in the Haren trade.
Update 2:32pm: Per Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers never spoke to the Cubs on Alex Wood. It was part of a larger deal with Indians.
Update 2:23pm: According to Gordon Wittenmyer, if the Cubs are still pursuing Carlos Carrasco from the Indians, the package to acquire him likely starts with Javier Baez.

Update 1:52pm: Bob Nightengale reports that the Cubs and Padres are mostly only dealing with each other at this point, and that they don’t necessarily need a third team to pull off a blockbuster.

Update 1:30pm: According to Bob Nightengale, the Cubs “would love” to make a deal for Tyson Ross and Craig Kimbrel from the Padres. Nightengale acknowledges that this may or may not be realistic. At the very least, the Cubs remain interested.

Update 1:23pm: David Kaplan reports that the Cubs are “actively working phones,” but are hesitant to trade big pieces unless the deal is a home run.

Update 1:01pm: The Marlins will receive RHP Ivan Pineyro and SS Elliot Soto in exchange for Dan Haren. Soto is very strong defensively, but has offensive questions, while Pineyro has had success at Double-A, but was Rule-5 eligible.
Update 12:44pm: The Marlins will reportedly receive two minor leaguers, who are as of yet, unnamed.
Update 12:30pm: The Cubs have reportedly traded for pitcher Dan Haren from the Miami Marlins.

Update 12:14pm: Huffington Post columnist Jordan Schultz reporting that he’s hearing rumors that Padres’ closer Craig Kimbrel could end up in Chicago.

Update 11:44am: Not many new reports, but the general silence has continued to breathe life into the report of a potential blockbuster building between Cubs, Padres, and Red Sox. Nick Cafardo mentions the Red Sox looking to move “immovable” assets.

Update 10:53am: ESPN’s Jim Bowden reports that Javier Baez is one of the Padres top trade targets as a long-term answer at shortstop. If this were to materialize, it would likely be centered on a Tyson Ross-Javier Baez swap.

Update 10:28am: Buster Olney starts hinting at something big brewing.
There is some speculation within the industry about a possible BOS/Cubs/Padres three-way blockbuster taking shape. Lots of pieces that fit.

Update 10:08am: Carlos Carrasco, 28, currently holds a 4.03 ERA, but has a shocking 2.83 FIP, showing he has been the consistent recipient of some major bad luck across the season. He would come with a significant amount of team control, as he would be under contract through 2019.
Update 10:00am: The Cubs have shown interest in Baltimore Orioles reliever Tommy Hunter. Hunter, 29, currently has a 3.63 ERA (3.32 FIP), and a WHIP of 1.16.
Update 9:55am: The Cubs continue to be in the running for Texas Rangers pitcher Yovani Gallardo.

Update 9:20am: The two primary players mentioned across this morning have been Atlanta Braves starter Julio Teheran, and Cleveland Indians starter Carlos Carrasco. But according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports says that Teheran may not be in play anymore.
