There’s no report on who the Cubs have received back in the deal, but it should be out sometime today.
The Cubs have had Castillo on the block virtually all off-season and into the 2015 season as they have carried three catchers this season. The team acquired Miguel Montero from the Arizona Diamondbacks and signed David Ross in the offseason.
Castillo has played in 24 games for the Cubs this season with the three catcher rotation. He’s only started 8 games this season and is hitting .163 with two home runs and five RBI’s. Castillo has been up in the big leagues with the Cubs since 2012 appearing in 275 games.
Check back for an update on who the Cubs will get back in the deal.
