The Chicago Fire are in a rebuilding phase and Thursday might be the start of something special for the club.
UPDATE: The Fire have traded Harrison to New York as part of an earlier trade.

UPDATE 3: The Fire acquired the 12th overall pick from Colorado via Los Angeles and have selected defenseman Jonathan Campbell from the University of North Carolina.
Fire attempting to build up that defense through the draft.

The Fire selected Wake Forest midfielder Jack Harrison with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 MLS Super Draft. The 19-year-old quit Manchester United’s Academy to come study in America at Wake Forest. He was fantastic in just one season with the Demon Decons last season. He was named the ACC’s Offensive Player of the Year and to the All ACC First Team.

Harrison becomes the first Wake Forest player selected No. 1 overall in the MLS Super Draft and joins Tim Duncan as the school’s only athletes to be selected No. 1 in their respected sport.
The Fire finished with just 30 points last season good for dead last in the league and seven points behind the Colorado Rapids who traded their No. 2 pick to the Philadelphia Union.
The Fire will kickoff the 2016 season Sunday, March 6th when they host New York City FC.
