The Chicago Fire have announced the signing of Romanian midfielder Razvan Cocis from Ukrainian FC Hozerla Uzhhorod. The terms of the deal have not been announced.
Cocis has played for a few different teams in his career that started in 2001. He’s started seven UEFA Champions League matches in his career.
“Razvan is an experienced, well-traveled central midfielder,” said Fire Head Coach Frank Yallop. “He brings a wealth of international experience and will be a great addition as we enter the second half of the season.” via press release.
The Romanian has earned 50 caps for his country internationally and made his debut on August 17, 2005. He has two goals and six assists in international play.
“I’m happy to be joining the Fire and can’t wait to get started,” said Cocis. “I think the move will suit me well as I enjoy big cities and Chicago is especially charming. The team is really coming together and I’m looking forward to contributing to its successes for the remainder of the season.”
