Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, is reporting that the Bears have released Safety Chris Harris. Interesting move considering Harris started just five days ago against the Buccaneers in London. Harris compiled 3 tackles on the day and had a pedestrian outing.
The Bears brought in 2 safeties to workout this week Tom Nelson and Darcell Bath. My thoughts lead me to believe that Chris Harris asked to be released. The Bears wouldn’t release him, only to replace him with somebody half as good. At the very best, Harris would be the best back-up the league could offer.
While I am not a supporter of our front office due to past blunders, this sounds like Harris wanted out. Chris Harris confirmed his release on Twitter. Do we blame the front office? Or Chris Harris? Let us know in the comments.
