White Sox lineup stepping up
Despite the recent wins, the White Sox lineup has continued to struggle. The White Sox have only scored 3.29 runs per game with only ten runs in the current three-game winning streak. It’s clear the lineup misses Eloy Jimenez but the struggles have occurred in the bottom half of the order.
Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu, and Luis Robert have been great for the team with 10 home runs and 103 total bases. Abreu and Anderson also both hit crucial home runs in the two games against the Cubs and have carried the offense. The problems start with the fifth spot until the end of the lineup. Notably, Yasmani Grandal, who was one of the best hitters last year, has only slashed .169/.277/.239 in his first 83 plate appearances.
Fenway Park provides the White Sox with the Green Monster. The giant wall heavily favors the right-handed pull hitters, which the offense has plenty of. If there is a weekend to snap out of the slump, this weekend would be the one to do so.
