How Vaughn will be replaced
For the second time this season, the White Sox will have to replace Andrew Vaughn, who is on the injured list. Along with Jimenez being out, the White Sox outfield is starting to lose depth and valuable fielders.
The #WhiteSox have placed outfielder Andrew Vaughn on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 2) with a bruised right hand and recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Class AAA Charlotte.

Replacing Vaughn is going to be tough in left field, with AJ Pollock having to play an unfamiliar position. However, the primary difficulty is replacing Vaughn in the lineup as the right-handed hitter slashed .283/.367/.566 with a .448 expected weighted On-Base Average (xwOBA) in 60 plate appearances. There isn’t a direct replacement for the White Sox in the batting order, rather they will need the rest of the lineup, which has struggled, to attack the Red Sox pitching.
