Even though it may not seem like it, the Chicago White Sox are one of the more exciting teams in Major League Baseball, as they have one of the better farm systems, and could see their prospects start to debut this season.
The White Sox have hit a rough patch to start the season and have dealt with nagging injuries, which haven’t helped them as they ride a seven-game losing streak.
Since it’s all doom and gloom for the Sox, they got a little ray of sunshine peaking through the clouds, as one interesting and entertaining former big league reliever will be joining the broadcast team for a handful of games this season.

CHSN host Chuck Garfien recently hosted former Big League reliever and MLB Network Analyst Dan Plesac on his podcast, the White Sox podcast hosted by Chuck Garfien, where it was revealed that Plesac will appear on 21 broadcasts for the White Sox.
Though Plesac didn’t play for the White Sox during his nearly two-decade career in the big leagues, he is a native of Gary, Indiana, which is only a half-hour’s drive from Rate Field (for him Comiskey Park) and said if he could go back in his career and have one do-over, it would be to play one year for his favorite team growing up to watch as a kid.
“.@Plesac19 will fill in for 21 games on @CHSN__ and explained how excited he is to cover his childhood favorite team on The #WhiteSox Podcast with @ChuckGarfien”

Known for his personality, Plesac will help provide an upbeat attitude, which could help ease the fans’ suffering as the team on the field struggles.
A different perspective

Plesac will bring in a nice outsider perspective, as he doesn’t have any investment in the team, given he covers baseball overall.
That outsider’s perspective could benefit the White Sox, as sometimes hearing an external viewpoint could trigger a change and lead to more success.
Plesac knows his stuff, as he was one of the better closers/relievers in the late ‘80s and ‘90s, accumulating 158 saves for his career and pitching 1072.0 innings.
It’s unclear when his first broadcast will be, but whenever it is, it can come sooner, as Sox fans could use some joy.
