Charlie Tilson’s 2016 season with the Chicago White Sox was over almost quicker than it started.
The outfielder was placed on the disabled list and will miss the remainder of the year. Tilson suffered a hamstring injury in just his first game with the White Sox on Tuesday night. He was acquired via trade from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for reliever Zach Duke.

The prospect will have to have surgery to repair the torn hamstring and JB Schuck was called up to replace him on the roster. Tilson singled in his first at bat in the majors during Tuesday’s game, but suffered the injury in the fifth inning tracking down a fly ball.
He finished hitting .282 with four home runs, 34 RBI’s, 15 stolen bases and had an OPS of .753 in 100 games this season for the Memphis Cardinals in Triple-A.
