Gordon Beckham is returning to Chicago.
The White Sox announced on Wednesday that they have brought back the infielder on a one-year, $2 million deal. The infielder was traded to the Los Angeles Angels on Aug 21. after hitting .226 with nine homers and 44 RBI’s for the White Sox.
The former first-round pick out of Georgia in 2008 will provide some infield depth for the White Sox likely fitting into the utility role. To make room for the move, Dayan Viciedo was designated for assignment on Wednesday.
