What’s next for the White Sox?
The White Sox return home to face the Kansas City Royals, another Central Division opponent. In the immediate aftermath of two sweeps, the White Sox simply need to regain momentum and snap out of their slump. The Royals appear to be the ideal opponent to help them rebound. However, with the team struggling Kansas City can particularly catch them napping.
In the greater scheme of things, the White Sox must replace a star in the heart of their lineup. The upcoming series is an ideal time to see who bats cleanup and what the implications are for the rest of the White Sox batting order. The next few games also provide a glimpse into which hitters will provide power outside of Abreu and Gandal. It’s only the first month of the season, 15 games to be exact. However, the start of the season is already turning into a consequential one for the reigning A.L. Central Division champs.
