It’s likely the first recognition of many for Chicago Cubs rookie Kris Bryant. Today he was named the NL Rookie of the Month for May, the team announced.

Bryant hit .265 with 7 home runs, 22 RBI’s, 16 BB’s and 20 runs in the month of May. He hit his first home run of his career during the month at Miller Park and has been on a tear every since. Bryant has played third base for most of his time up with the Cubs, getting two starts in the outfield. He’s also been slotted consistently in the two spot in the lineup and has also batted third and cleanup.
