The Chicago Blackhawks have a late start for their matchup against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night at the United Center. The contest won’t start between the lowly Blackhawks (16-31-5) and Oilers (33-16-4) until 8:30 p.m. CST.
It’ll be a little later than normal for when Bedard will lose his first faceoff of the night. The second-year rising star enters Wednesday’s matchup leading Chicago with 45 points and 30 assists.

Per Charlie Roumeliotis with WGN Radio, Bedard joked about the late start, saying he would need a longer nap earlier in the day.

At 19, the late night shouldn’t bother the No. 1 pick from the 2023 draft. Unfortunately for Bedard, he’s still too young in the United States to use the aid of beverages to keep him up.
Chicago’s next matchup will take place on Friday when they host the Nashville Predators at 7:30 p.m. CST. The Blackhawks have another late night coming up on Feb. 27 when they will travel to play the Las Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena at 9 p.m. CST.
