This early in the season it’s not a bad idea to try every line combo humanly possible when scoring becomes a problem.
Joel Quenneville is trying to spark the Blackhawks offense tonight against Philadelphia with a nostalgic top line of Patrick Sharp – Jonathan Toews – Patrick Kane.

Don’t count on Sharp to keep up with Toews and Kane. If anything Sharp has a high hockey IQ and is a decent player to bounce the puck off of. Toews and Kane will be doing the majority of the work on this line and I wouldn’t be surprised that we see Saad on this line after a few shifts. I really would like to see this line work, but I have my doubts.
While that line was probably exciting back in the day, Sharp is by no means the same player he was. His days on the top six are over and should be relegated to a depth position. Sharp was great, however, at this point, he’s taking ice time away from players like Hinostroza and Highmore.
Sharp currently has 2 goals and 2 assists on the season and the Blackhawks would certainly love an uptick in his production.
