While diving for a Craig Gentry flyball in the first inning of Saturdays game Carlos Quentin came up with a shoulder injury. Immediately following the injury X-rays on the shoulder were negative.
On Sunday, according to Sox Sun Times beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen via Twitter, Quentin has sprain of the AC joint in his left shoulder. He is day to day.
Currently, Quentin has not been placed on the DL, Ozzie said of the injury, “I know he’s going to be sore for a little while, but hopefully it’s just that, soreness.”
Quentin has gone 5/32 (.156) over his last 10 games with 0 home runs and 6 RBIs.
