The Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a trade in principle that will send pitcher Travis Wood and two minor-leaguers to the Cubs for left-handed reliever Sean Marshall. The next process if for all players involved to pass physicals.
Wood, 24, will go into the Cubs rotation as the only left-handed starter. Wood has experienced a few brief stints in the majors. He posted an 11-10 record with a 4.18 ERA. The two minor league players dealt to the Cubs are still unknown.
Marshall was the Cubs best relief pitcher last year with a2.26 ERA.
It is unsure when the deal will officially be announced
