Wednesday– According to sources the Cubs are close to dealing pitcher, Carlos Zambrano to the Miami Marlins.
In order for the trade to be possible, Zambrano would have to waive his no trade clause. It is expected that he would be willing to accept the trade to Miami do he can play under manager, Ozzie Guillen. Both Guillen and Zambrano are natives of Venezuela.
The Cubs are expected to pay most of the near $19million that is left on Zambrano’s contract.
The troubled right handed has spent his whole career with the Cubs. With the Cubs, Zambrano posted 125 wins an 81 loses with a 3.60 ERA. Before walking out on the 2011 season, he went 9-7 with a 4.82 ERA.
