The Cubs’ second first-round pick this season, Alex Lange, dominated in LSU’s College World Series game against Oregon State on Friday in Omaha, Nebraska.
Lange went 7.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits, striking out eight Oregon State batters. He also allowed four walks in the win.
He brought his ERA for the season down under 3 with the performance, exiting the game at 2.97. Lange picked up the win, his third of the postseason without any losses, as the Tigers knocked off the Beavers 3-1.

The two teams will face off again on Saturday in the double-elimination tournament.
The junior righty from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, was taken with the 30th-overall pick in last week’s MLB draft. He was selected three picks after the Cubs took lefthander Brendon Little from the State College of Florida Manatee – Sarasota.
