The Chicago Cubs offense is firing on all cylinders. Despite the cold weather at Wrigley Field, some home cooking has been happening as the Cubbies have scored seven or more runs in four out of their five games on this home stand.
Over this period of success, the team has been collecting lots of hits and has been aggressive on the bases. Applying pressure with their speed has been a new identity for the team early on this season. One player who figures to play a large role in that throughout the season is Pete Crow-Armstrong.
Recently, Crow-Armstrong became the second youngest outfielder in franchise history to accomplish this single-game feat.

On Tuesday night against the Rangers, Crow-Armstrong had an excellent game where he went 3-5, stole two bases, and collected two RBI. This single-game stat line put him in company with Corey Patterson as the second youngest Cubs outfielder with a game featuring three or more hits, two or more RBI, and two or more stolen bases.
Pete Crow-Armstrong is the 2nd-youngest Cubs OF with a game featuring 3+ hits, 2+ RBI and 2+ SB, behind only Corey Patterson (Aug. 20, 2002).

Back when the Houston Astros were a part of the National League Central, they played a wild game against the Cubs on August 20, 2002. Chicago prevailed by a score of 14-12 and Corey Patterson had an incredible game. In that contest he went 4-6, stole two bases, and collected three RBI.
Hopefully Crow-Armstrong’s outing against the Rangers helps get him rolling. After a hot spring, he has had a slow start to the 2025 regular season as he is slashing .222/.300/.278. He does have six stolen bases already has a very good chance at surpassing the 27 bases he stole a season ago.
