In what is possibly the final move of the Cubs offseason, the Cubs agreed to a two year deal with former Met Scott Hairston. It had been reported that it was down to the Yankees and Mets, but the Cubs flew under the radar and picked the powerful outfielder. The 32 year old is expected to be the fourth outfielder and platoon with David DeJesus and Nate Schierholtz against lefties. This also means bad news for Tony Campana as Dave Sappelt is expected to claim the fifth outfielder spot. The speedster will likely be Designated for Assignment.
