Phoenix — Rookie SS Starlin Castro led the Cubs with a 2-run single in the 5th as the Cubs swept the Diamondbacks in Arizona for the first time ever in 16 tries. Aramis Ramirez continued his climb back towards .200 with 2 more hits and a 3 run homer in the ninth, his third of the series.
Ryan Dempster (7-7) labored through 5 innings to get the win over Edwin Jackson (6-7). The Cubs roughed up Jackson for 5 runs in 5 innings.
Chris Young drove in two runs in the 5th to tie up the game before Castro would put the Cubs ahead to stay and Ramirez put the game out of reach with his shot off of Chad Qualls.
