Mark your calendars Cubs fans! August 10th is officially declared Ron Santo day and the Cubs plan to unveil a statue of the late Santo to mark the occasion.
The Cubs Convention resumed Saturday morning at the Hilton Chicago with news that the team plans to unveil a statue Aug. 10 honoring Ron Santo, who died in December.
That was followed by the sometimes combative but always entertaining question-and-answer seminars.
The Ricketts family seminar began with the announcement of Ron Santo Day and the statue. The statue will be unveiled before the 7:05 p.m. game Aug. 10 vs. the Nationals. A No. 10 uniform patch will be worn by team personnel beginning in spring training.
