The annual Crosstown Classic between the Chicago Cubs and White Sox is a few weeks away, but the trash talk is already beginning.
After Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant hit a home run off of Chris Sale in the first inning of the 2016 MLB All-Star Game Tuesday, the Cubs Twitter account fired off a shot at the White Sox. Here’s what they tweeted:
Put it on the board.https://t.co/tMPoYSxZZN
— Chicago Cubs (@Cubs) July 13, 2016
The caption is the important thing here. White Sox broadcaster Hawk Harrelson says (sometimes screams) “You can put it on the board…….YES!!” after a White Sox player hits a home run. The two teams will meet for a four-game series splitting home and away beginning Monday, July 25.
Well played, Cubs.
