The MLB All-Star Future’s Game is always one of the most exciting parts of the MLB All-Star Weekend. The top prospects are split up into two teams, the World Team and U.S. Team to complete against eachother.
Last year Cubs super prospects Kris Bryant and Javier Baez appeared in the game with Baez slugging a monster home run. This year both the Cubs and White Sox will be represented as the rosters were announced on Thursday.

Pitcher Frankie Montas will be the lone White Sox representative in this year’s game as he joins the World Team roster. The 22-year-old pitcher is currently in Double-AA Birmingham and has posted a 2.55 ERA in 12 starts this season. He’s currently the number two ranked prospect on the White Sox.
As for the Cubs, prospects Kyle Schwarber and Carl Edwards Jr. will represent the Northsiders this year on the U.S. Team. Schwarber has already had a taste of the big leagues, being called up briefly to DH during some inter-league games. The catcher is likely to make another appearance this season.
As for Edwards Jr., the pitcher was called up to Triple-A this season and has posted a 3.27 ERA and 12 strikeouts. He’s 2-2 overall this season.
The Future’s Game will take place July 12 at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
