Alfonso Soriano has done it again. Soriano hit a homerun in his 4th consecutive game. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Ryan Dempster and the Cubs fell to the Pirates 3-2.
Along with Soriano, Geovany Soto also homered in the loss. Those 2 solo homeruns were all the Cubs could muster against the Pirates. Aramis Ramirez continued his downward spiral going 0-4.
Ryan Dempster was the tough luck loser, allowing only 3 runs in his 7 innings. Dempster struck out 7 while walking only 1.
The Cubs will look to tie the series tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. Ted Lilly (1-1) will look to rebound from a rough outing and will make only his 3rd start of the season. For the Pirates, Charlie Morton (0-5) will look to get his 1st win of the season.
Final Score: Cubs (13-14) 2 – Pirates (11-15) 3
WP: Paul Maholm (2-2)
LP: Ryan Dempster (2-2)
S: Octavio Dotel (4)
