Once Dwyane Wade became a member of the Chicago Bulls, Doug McDermott’s days as #3 were numbered – pun intended. To McDermott’s credit, he knew this and willingly gave up the number, as he said in this Instagram post.
Well, McBuckets has a new number.
This is coming while he and newest Bull, Denzel Valentine, are training with the United States Men’s Basketball team as members of USA Basketball’s Select Team. Earlier in the week, McBuckets put Victor Oladipo on a poster.
McDermott offered this post with no explanation today on twitter.

All I can really see is Tony Snell ruining the picture if we’re being honest. #11 is a bit of a weird look for McDermott, who has been #3 for both of his years in Chicago, as well as his four years at Creighton. However, 11 was not the only number that he was considering.
On Monday in Vegas, @dougmcd3 said he was deciding between Nos. 11, 17, 24 and 34. https://t.co/ECLVu0KEdf

McDermott joins Sam Vincent, B.J Armstrong during his last season as a Bull in 2000, Lindsay Hunter and Tom Thibodeau favorite Ronnie Brewer as notable Bulls to have worn the number.
