Welp, that was fun while it lasted.
For the second-straight year, the Chicago Bulls fell in the NBA Draft Lottery and will pick seventh overall. The NBA revealed the results of the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery live in Chicago and it didn’t take long for some surprises.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans were three surprising teams that moved into the top 4, joining the New York Knicks. The Pelicans won the top pick followed by Memphis at No. 2, New York at No. 3 and Los Angeles at No. 4
With that, it meant the Bulls fell down in the lottery and will now pick seventh.
It marks the third year in a row the Bulls will pick picking No. 7 despite finishing with the fourth-worst record in the NBA in 2019.
The Bulls made a draft-day trade in 2017 to acquire Lauri Markkanen and then last year they drafted Duke’s Wendell Carter Jr.
With a need at point guard, John Paxson hinted the Bulls may go that route:
The 2019 NBA Draft will take place on Thursday June 20th.
