Don’t expect guard Dwyane Wade to be in Chicago for the entire 2017-18 NBA season.
After Chicago traded away Jimmy Butler on draft night, it was rumored that veteran Dwyane Wade would not opt in to anther year of his contract.
Instead, Wade did the opposite and he opted in for another year and a cool $23 Million for the upcoming season. But now that might be changing.
According to ESPN Bulls beat writer Nick Friedell, the Bulls and Wade are expected to reach an agreement for a buyout in the near future. Here’s what he writes:
Dwyane Wade isn’t long for the organization’s future and is expected to reach a buyout agreement at some point in the next few months.
It makes sense for both sides.
The Bulls are looking to completely rebuild and began that with the Butler trade. Having Wade on the roster really does them no good outside of putting fans in seats.
For Wade, he wont have a shot at another title here in Chicago as by the time the Bulls are ready to win again, he will be out of the league.
Wade gets paid a buyout and will eventually land with a contender. The Bulls will continue their rebuild and hopefully land a stud in the upcoming NBA Draft.
