Winter is coming in Chicago and we all know that it can be brutal at times.
The blistering wind, cold temperatures and the snow makes it for a tough time in the Windy City. Chicago athletes know what winter conditions can be like, so its only fitting they gear up in the latest Nike equipment for the brutal season.
This year Chicago Sky star and WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne is ready for her winter workouts and has helped launch Nike’s new #GetOutHere campaign featuring a snow theme that relates to the conditions. Delle Donne teamed up with several other prominent athletes to create one of the coolest ads Nike has released. Delle Donne joined Rob Gronkowski, AJ Green, Carli Lloyd, Draymond Green, Steven Stamkos, O’Dell Beckham Jr. and others to put together the winter-inspired ad.
As you will see in the ad, it shows two teams led by Gronkowski and Miami’s Ndamukong Suh meeting for a game during the “snow day.” The commercial looks competitive as both teams are filled with star athletes. “Yeah it was competitive out there shooting,” Delle Donne said. “Suh’s team would win, definitely.”
The ad will air during the Thursday Night Football game between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Delle Donne was in Chicago on Thursday to premiere the special ad at a Nike event and we are able to provide an exclusive look at it:

Being a Delaware native, Delle Donne is used to some bad winters but she isn’t afraid of Chicago’s. “I mean it’s not that terrible,” Delle Donne said jokingly in a press conference Thursday. “Like the ad said, don’t be soft just get through it. In Chicago, people are definitley not soft at all. They are used to it.”
The 26-year-old MVP and former Rookie of the Year is preparing for the next goal in her Sky career and will enter the offseason with the mindset of winning a championship. Delle Donne says she’s going to use the elements outside as she has some workouts prepared. “I spoke to my trainer about that and she’s excited,” Delle Donne said when asked about her offseason plans. “I said hey let’s get outdoors and do something different this year. The outdoor training can really help elevate you inside.”
In addition, Nike is launching a new national campaign designed to let athletes show how they “#GetOutHere” and battle the elements to train. In December 48 winners will be selected to compete in a special competition in Chicago. Those interested in entering or participating in any Chicago training sessions should visit Nike Chicago.

It is a positive Nike ad, as usual! I would like to see this generation use it as a motivator and get them OUT of the house and PLAY. Growing up in Delaware, in the the ’70’s & early ’80’s, I was ALWAYS outside, with my friends playing football and games, in the snow!
So PROUD of Elena AND that is a GREAT Nike ad!!! I am a golfer AND love your golf line too!!! DELAWARE PROUD!!!??
