Chicago White Sox fans everywhere held their breath on Friday night when outfielder Eloy Jimenez hit the wall awkwardly and was on the ground holding his ankle. Jimenez jumped into the wall trying to rob a home run that he probably wasn’t going to get anyways and his ankle crashed into the wall.
Jimenez had to be helped back to the dugout after the play and left the game. Check out the play below:
On Sunday, the White Sox provided an update on Jimenez’s status after Saturday’s game was snowed out. The good news for Jimenez is that this doesn’t appear to be a serious injury costing him months.
Instead, it appears as if he will be out just a few weeks as the White Sox have put him on the Injured List:
It’s a small bump in the road for Jimenez who appeared to be getting on track in his rookie season.
