The Chicago White Sox are playing some good baseball on the South Side, taking the first two games of their four-game set against the New York Yankees with wins on Thursday and Friday. With the two wins, the White Sox have climbed back to the .500 mark, a pretty neat accomplishment for a team in the rebuilding stage.
A big reason for Chicago’s recent success has to do with their lineup including rookie outfielder Eloy Jimenez. The outfielder is on a tear and hit two more home runs against the Yankees on Friday night.
Here is the first three-run shot by Jimenez in the first inning off C.C. Sabathia:
And then he tagged a pitch from Luis Cessa in the bottom of the sixth for another three-run homer to give the White Sox a 10-1 lead:
Jimenez is now up to 11 home runs for the season and is really starting to heat up. The White Sox and Yankees will continue their series on Saturday at 6:10 on the South Side.
