Ok, we all know the Sox and Rangers were playing on the South Side tonight but with 2 straight games with the Rangers scoring 9 goals, there offense has been Texas big!
The Rangers had no troubles getting to Gavin Floyd as they started the fun right away in the 1 st inning. Josh Hamilton singled to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead and Matt Treanor gave Texas a 3-0 lead with a 2 RBI double. The Palehose would get 2 runs back in the bottom half of the inning. Vizquel doubled deep which scored Juan Pierre and Paul Konerko cut the lead down to 3-2 with a fielder’s choice.
Anything you can do we can do better said the Rangers as Michael Young scored Andrus with an RBI double. Hamilton then singled to give the Rangers a 5-2 lead after just 2 innings. Gavin was again roughed up in the 3rd when Matt Treanor went deep to make it a 6-2 lead.
After giving up the homer Gavin was pulled with just 2.2 innings under his belt. Floyd gave up 8 hits and 6 runs in less then 3 innings of work. Gavin already wishes this year could be over as he now has a record of 2-6 with a 6.64 era.
The pitching change couldn’t help the SOx as in the 5th as Michael Young had a 2 RBI single which would make it 8-2 after only 5 innings. Sox killer Matt Treanor knocked in another for the Rangers to make it 9-2.
Paul Konerko tried to make a comeback for his guys with a solo shot in the 6th.
It was Paulie again in the 8th as he belted a 2 run shot. That is all the Sox would get as they lost 9-5.
