Dilly Duka was a big part of the 2013 Fire team that narrowly missed the playoffs after a second-half surge under head coach Frank Klopas. Under new coach Frank Yallop, Duka played a much more limited role, and after Tuesday’s trade, he will join his former coach in Montreal.
The Fire dealt Duka to the Impact in exchange for Sanna Nyassi. The Gambian midfielder had been with the Impact since the expansion draft ahead of their inaugural 2012 season in MLS.
Nyassi has spent his MLS career playing for Seattle, Colorado and Montreal, making the Fire his fourth MLS destination.
The Fire return to action Wednesday, hosting Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
