The Chicago Fire announced on Monday that the team has scheduled its annual international friendly. In 2014, the Fire will play host to the Barclays Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur at Toyota Park on Saturday, July 26. The time of the match has yet to be determined.
According to Chicago-Fire.com, season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets for the game on January 8. The general public will be able to purchase tickets on January 24 and group ticket sales begin on January 27.
The match with Tottenham marks the third time in four seasons that the Fire have faced off against a Premier League opponent. The Fire played English juggernaut Manchester United at Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears and former home of the Fire, in 2011 and Aston Villa at Toyota Park in 2012. The Fire also played friendlies against Mexican sides Santos Laguna and Club America in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
Tottenham will also play a friendly against Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders FC in 2014.
