#3: Week 1, Bears vs San Francisco 49ers @ Soldier Field
Every team has to have hope going into the first week of the season. The Bears’ first week will come against a formidable opponent, but it’s one they have a chance to steal. Quarterback Trey Lance, taken third overall in 2021, will likely be the starter for the 49ers, who reached the 2021 NFC Championship with Jimmy Garoppolo as the signal-caller.
The 49ers were inconsistent in 2021, before making an impressive run in the playoffs, narrowly missing the Super Bowl. If the Bears’ improved secondary can make life tough for the inexperienced Lance, Fields and the Bears could gain the upper hand in the matchup.
