Bilal Nichols is another casualty of a new regime taking over. Former Bears DT Bilal Nichols is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. Nichols was a starter on the defensive line and racked up 3 sacks this past season. In 2020, he had a career year with 5 sacks. Many thought the writing was on the wall when the Bears Signed Former Bengals DT Larry Ogunjobi. It was evident early on in the free agency period what General Manager Ryan Poles thought of the status of the defensive line.

It seemed that it was going to be Bilal Nichols or Akiem Hicks to go. There is a large faction of the fanbase that thinks even Hicks will be released in the near future. Plagued with injuries the past couple of seasons, it’s no surprise that Hicks could be on his way out. When he is healthy and on the field, he makes a massive difference in clogging up the middle, while still finding a way to get to the quarterback frequently from the interior. I have my fingers crossed that Hicks will remain in Chicago, I ask that you cross yours as well.
