The 2016 McDonald’s All-American Games will be hosted in Chicago for the sixth-straight year as the full rosters were released. ESPNU hosted a release show revealing 48 total players between the boys and girls games that will take place in March.
The state of Texas had five selections for the boys side, by far the most in the game as California and Florida finished second with three a piece. The school with the most selections is the University of Kentucky who had four total backed behind their No. 1 overall recruiting class. Duke, UCLA and Michigan State finished second, each having two players named to the roster. There are also five players who have yet to make a college decision, with some potentially coming before the game in March.
The city of Chicago is left without a representative for the second-straight year after Jabari Parker (2013) and Jahlil Okafor (2014) played on the United Center floor in front of their home crowd. Last year, Lincolnshire Stevenson’s Jalen Brunson was the lone Illinois representative on the boys side. This year there won’t be a representative from the state of Illinois.
The girls teams however do feature two Illinois representatives as Jeannie Boehm (New Trier) and Tori McCoy (Saint Thomas More in Champaign) were named to the West Team.
