Joining me today is 2011 Football recruit Marquis Mosely. Mosely is a top wide receiver from Robert E Lee High School in Texas.
PH: How are summer practices and workouts going?
MM: Pretty good, just trying to work on the basics so i can be at my best when the season starts.
PH: What made you choose Illinois over all the other schools that were recruiting you?
MM: First off I want to go somewhere where I feel welcomed, and the coaching staff kept in contact with me a lot so it showed me that they wanted me. Also where i can come and play right away, that was a big factor.
PH: What are your greatest strengths as a football player?
MM: I’m just a team player and I’ll do whatever it takes to win.
PH: What are you currently trying to work on?
MM: As a WR you can never get enough of route running and catching in so I always try to take a couple of hours out of the day and just take time to work on those.
PH: Which players or coaches have you had a chance to talk with that are currently on the Illini? What have they told you?
MM: Coach Vick, basically just told me that he was glad that i chose Illinois.
PH: Next year are you ready to come in and contribute right away? Or might you redshirt?
MM: I’m ready to come in and play but whatever coach wants me to do i will do.
PH: Texas is one of the best states in the country for High School football. Who is the best player that you have matched up against? What made them such a challenge for you?
MM: A DB for Lufkin committed to Texas. He was very good and he made it difficult a night long but it was fun and a good learning experience.
PH: What are your expectations for Robert E. Lee High School This year?
MM: Win state!! Nothing less of that would be acceptable. We have a strong team this year and the coaching staff is going to do all they can to make sure that we get to state.
PH: What are your expectations for the Illini?
MM: End up in a bowl game and Win!! and with the great coaching staff that shouldn’t be hard!!
