4 points this weekend and that’s what I like to see from the Blackhawks. What a weekend for the man we call Sharpie, Patrick had a good weekend with 4 goals and starting to get that immortal status that Marian Hossa already claims. Sharp now has 7 points in 5 games, if that isn’t a fast start I don’t know what is.
Speaking of Hossa, he continues his tear through the NHL with 9 points in 6 games. So this is what we’ve been waiting for from Boss Hoss, when fully healthy just a dominate 2way forward that looks unstoppable at times. With the win on Saturday the Hawks move into a tie for first place in the Central Division. That’s right it feels good to be back on top and lets stay up there.
But it doesn’t get any easier this week as the Hawks have to play much improved St. Louis twice this week, with a match up with the much hated Vancouver Canucks sandwiched in between them.
St. Louis always gives the Blackhawks fits with their aggressive forecheck and goon style of play. Whereas we all know what kind of relationship the Hawks and Canucks have, this should make a very interesting week for the Hawks. If you’ve been hoping to see the last of John Scott you wont get your wish this week. I’m almost positive that coach Quenneville will be inserting Scott in the lineup just to keep peace with teams that have a hatred for us.
In other Blackhawks news Nick Leddy has been sent down to Rockford today. This move puzzles a lot of Hawks fans as he’s been getting better, but the Hawks have to let this kid get more ice time than 8 minutes he had on Saturday. Nick will have a chance to go down to Rockford and get a lot more ice time and grow in different situations. He’ll be able to get PK time and PP time since he wasn’t going to get that on the NHL roster.
Either way the Blackhawks have now won 2 straight games. Lets get a winning streak together. GO BLACKHAWKS!
