4th Round, 115 overall (from NO) RB Roschon Johnson, Texas
Roschon Johnson was the selection here in the fourth round for the Chicago Bears. It was evident at some point that they were going to target a running back in this range, but to be honest I didn’t expect it to be Johnson.
Their was plenty of interest in his teammate Bijan Robinson, who was selected early in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons. Johnson is a similar back who uses his strength and power to overcome run stoppers, and is a viable option in the passing game. He also has potential to be a great pass blocker at the next level if he continues to improve.
Personally, I thought there were some better options on the board at this spot when it came to running backs. The organization clearly values Khalil Herbert as the ‘third down’ back, and will give him a chance to prove himself this season.
