Grading the Chicago Bears 2024 rookie draft class after a disappointing season
The 2024 NFL season is over for the Chicago Bears, as their focus will now turn to finding a new head coach, and preparing for the draft. After a disappointing 5-12 campaign that featured an in-season firing, as well as a couple of embarrassing losses, this could be a make it or break it offseason for GM Ryan Poles.
Before the season began, many believed Poles and the rest of the Chicago Bears front office nailed their five selections in the 2024 NFL draft. They found what could finally be a franchise quarterback in Caleb Williams, and a legit big body wide receiver with loads of talent by the name of Rome Odunze.
The Bears also puzzled most of the football world when they selected punter Tory Taylor in the fourth round, especially with many other holes on the roster to fill. Taylor had a pretty solid rookie campaign, but he was on the field way too much for the teams’ liking.
Today, we’ll be grading all the selections made by the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL Draft. This will mostly cover on-field performance, rather than where the player was selected, for example Taylor who was drafted much earlier than predicted. With only five selections made, two being high in the first round, this was a draft that needed to be done correctly.
Let’s dive right in.
